Nodar Dumbadze was one of the best known Soviet Georgian authors of the 20th century. He was the most translated Georgian author and his works were translated into Russian, Polish, English, German, French, Turkish, Greek, Japanese, etc. Among the works translated works published in English, are his best and most popular, novels Granny, Iliko, Ilarion and I (Me, bebia, iliko da ilarioni) (translated by Raissa Bobrova), I See the Sun (Me vkhedav mzes) (translated by Fainna Glagoleva), The Sunny Night (Mziani ghame) (translated by George Nakashidze), The Law of Eternity (Maradisobis kanoni) (translated by Andrew Bromfield), and the stories (translated by Aleksandr Rudenko-Desnyak and Amanda Calvet). Among unpublished translated works is a story Blood Knot (translated by Jan Butler).
